#3 Herpes Dating Site

STDFriends takes a different approach to STD dating and herpes dating by allowing you to contact others for friendship first much like facebook. While the dating aspect is still at the core of the experience, its harder to find someone on the site in your city due to the currently limited number of users. While this could change if the site becomes more popular, it suffers from the “chicken and egg” problem of not having enough users for others to want to sign up. You should give it a try if you’re curious or want a more “friendly” user experience.

Membership Features:

  • Easy communication with email and winks
  • Lots of options to create your own content such as blogs and lists
  • Custom Instant Messanger
  • View the content others have created
  • Quick and Easy Search
  • User Forums and Guestbooks

A fun modern approach to the herpes dating website idea, STDfriends gets you right into the mix quickly with an easy sign up process and quick access to other users photos (though this may be seen as a drawback as described below) Once you are signed up its easy to find others profiles with the quick search by age, sex, gender and city. You can also search for “online only” members to start a quick chat. STDFriends tries hard to make it easy to communicate with its members and get the conversation going right away.

Drawbacks has a total membership of about 40,000 with 100-200 new members joining each month. While this is a respectable number, it is hard to find someone with the same STD in the same city who is also an active member of the site. While this could grow overtime you’ll be waiting along time to hear from someone and we’ve found many emails to be “spammy” and not people showing genuine interest in meeting or dating.
You’ll notice first and foremost the STDfriends shows a list of random profiles with photographs the moment you enter the site. While this is a quick and easy way to discover users of the site, some might not feel comfortable with such a private part of their lives being on display for all to see. One can then search the profiles by sex, age, country, city and whether or not the user is online currently. Clicking on any photo gets you right to the users profile page where you can see a timeline of their actions and ways to share their profile on social media. Again this seems awkward for someone on a sensitive herpes dating website to want others to proclaim it to the world for them.

Free membership for standard members

Final Word offers a quick and easy approach to meeting others with the same STD as you. Be careful with privacy concerns however as its easy for your photos to be shared without your consent.

  1. It’s Facebook for STDs! That’s amazing! It’s too bad that this site is smaller than some of the others (membership-wise) because I like the Facebook-esque set-up and comments and stuff. Neat.

  2. Excellent article idea. I can not do otherwise when I discover a new website or blog. Thank you for formalizing this !

  3. I don’t think I would login using my Facebook information. Not everybody in my circle is aware that I have herpes, nor do I want them to know. Other than that, this site looks good. It’s less expensive than other STD dating sites I’ve been on, which is a plus.

Come to think of it, I have a friend who joined this site not long ago. She met a guy who she dated for a while. So it works — but the Facebook login thing just isn’t my speed.

  4. Thank you so much for the review, it was so help to me deciding which herpes dating site to get started with.

  5. STD Friends is a great free site that will appeal to a lot of people out there. I was a little disappointed that it doesn’t include a live chat feature, but with membership costing absolutely nothing, I will certainly suggest giving it a go nonetheless.
